NICOSIA TWO PARKS LOOP – 21K

Do you want to put a long steady run while in Nicosia? Then book this Nicosia Two Parks Loop tour and get ready for a 21km, which will take you around two lovely parks of Nicosia that many local runners, walkers, and cyclists use for their training. They both have beautiful trails and bike paths and are well maintained by the Cyprus forestry department.

We will start with a 3km loop for a warm-up, around Akademias park, which is the smallest of the two but the closest to the city center. Part of the University of Cyprus is adjacent to it, and its trails take you through a small forest of pine trees, cypress trees, and eucalyptus.

We will then exit and run on a bike path that leads to the largest park of the Nicosia district, The Athalassa National Forest Park. This is “the green lung” of the city which offers an extensive network of paths and trails, small lakes, botanical gardens, an environmental/educational center, and serene beauty.

Depending on the day and time, we will most likely meet other groups of runners, cyclists, and walkers enjoying a day out. We will loop the park on a choice of trails and/or paved bike paths keeping a steady pace and enjoying nature, fresh air, and a nice conversation.
